Veeco promotes Jeffrey Pina following Debra Wasser's departure for Edelman

Veeco Instruments Inc. is realigning its communications roles after the exit last month of senior vice president Debra Wasser, who served as investor relations chief.
She joined Manhattan-based PR firm Edelman to lead its investor relations practice. Veeco, a Plainview-based maker of tools for LEDs and memory storage devices, is consolidating communications responsibilities under former senior director of marketing communications Jeffrey Pina.
He became head of corporate and marketing communications with the departure of 17-year veteran Wasser. Wasser will continue to serve Veeco as a consultant while the company seeks a new investor relations chief.
