The magazine subscription vendor Publishers Clearing House of Port Washington has lent its support to a group that’s fighting a proposed U.S. Postal Service price increase.
The Affordable Mail Alliance membership also includes the Herald chain of Long Island weekly newspapers.
The Postal Service increase would cost an extra 8 percent for periodical mailings.
“The Affordable Mail Alliance is an unprecedented coalition of Postal customers who have come together to say "enough is enough" – no more postal rate hikes,” the Washington, D.C., based lobbying group says on its website.
