Verint shares were up $2.26, to $33.86, after the Israeli financial newspaper Calcalist reported Nice Systems was considering paying $1.5 billion to acquire the Long Island company.
A spokesman for Verint did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Verint produces software used by businesses and government agencies to sift through data from telephone calls and surveillance cameras to detect potential problems.
