Verint wins award for video security software

A video analysis software program made by Verint Systems Inc. is the winner of a “Govies” award from Security Products magazine.
The Melville-based company’s Nextiva video intelligence system won a platinum award in the competition’s video management category.
The software analyzes video and audio data including access to indoor and outdoor spaces (e.g., building access control and border control), intrusion, closed-circuit TV and radar.
Verint's software ties this data to GIS (geographic information system) and multiple databases.
Verint is expected to be spun off by parent Comverse Technology Inc., the owner of a 55-percent stake. First, though, Comverse must put to rest lingering issues related to a stock options and accounting scandal involving Comverse's former head, Jacob "Kobi" Alexander.
Verint has $700 million in annual revenue and a workforce of 2,700.
