The wind farms proposed for the waters off Long Island are the subject of a virtual conference on Wednesday and Friday, officials said.

The free event has been organized by the state Energy Research and Development Authority, or NYSERDA, and includes a virtual networking event on Wednesday for businesses and a job fair on Friday.

Both days will feature presentations from state officials and executives of wind farm developers Orsted, Eversource and Equinor about the opportunities for manufacturers, service firms and job seekers.

The speakers will include Doreen Harris, CEO of NYSERDA; Marjaneh Issapour, an engineering professor and director of the Renewable Energy and Sustainability Center at Farmingdale State College, and Matthew Aracich, president of the union umbrella group Nassau Suffolk Building and Construction Trades Council.
