Clearwire announced its CLEAR 4G mobile Internet network in New York City and portions of western Nassau on Monday.

The wireless network covers more than 11 million people in New York state.

“The arrival of CLEAR 4G in New York is a tremendous milestone for our company,” said David Barnette, vice president of sales for Clear. “We’re extremely excited to bring the nation’s largest and fastest wireless internet service to the Big Apple, a city where people are always on the move.” Clearwire Corp. is based in Kirkland, Wash.
