Workers not as lucky as you on Thanksgiving
Remember when stores were all closed on Thanksgiving and family and friends came together for the holiday? Yeah, well, those days seem long over at many chain stores, where competitive pricing and the thirst for a deal have pushed stores to open on the holiday itself. Kohl's will open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving, as will Macy's and other chains. For some, Thanksgiving Day is a day when duty calls.
They don't get to sit at the dinner table, eat turkey and mashed potatoes or watch the National Football League with the family.
