Workshop to help businesses prepare for the next disaster

Nassau County will hold a disaster-preparedness workshop June 12 for companies operating in the county.

The free event, from 6 to 8 p.m., will be at the county’s Office of Emergency Management, 510 Grumman Road West, Bethpage.

Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano will lead a discussion about superstorm Sandy and how businesses should plan for the next disaster. Panelists will include representatives of the New York State Small Business Development Center, Federal Emergency Management Agency and U.S. Small Business Administration.

“With the start of hurricane season, it’s important to study the lessons learned from the past and put them to work so that businesses can be prepared should Mother Nature strike again,” Mangano said.
