WPG Americas, a Ronkonkoma electronics distribution center, is reported to be moving to Mississippi where it will operate in a new 60-employee center just south of Memphis, Tenn.

The Commercial Appeal, of Memphis, reported the plan Wednesday, saying WPG Americas is making the move “to take advantage of the Memphis transportation hub and more efficient facilities.”

WPG Americas officials did not immediatly respond to a request for comment Thursday.

“The company is spending $1.5 million on the project, and expects to create 60 jobs over the next three years,” the report said.

The report said local governments offered incentives through the Mississippi Development Authority and DeSoto County Economic Development Council.
