A former Colorado tourism official has been named to replace Moke McGowan as president of the Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau. Yan Baczkowski had been director of tourism for Snowmass Village, Colorado, near Aspen, according to his LinkedIn profile. He resigned from that post in February, after seven months on the job, according to a Colorado newspaper article. He takes on the new job officially on Tuesday. McGowan is retiring after 10 years in the job and plans to relocate to Columbia, South Carolina, where he owns a home in a golf-course community.
