U.S. News & World Report released its annual list of the best cars for families, evaluating 127 models and selecting winners in each of 11 categories.

According to the magazine, the winners have the best combinations of safety and reliability rankings, as well as family friendly features and good reviews from other automotive press.

Best Luxury Midsize Car for Families: Audi A6

Audi placed two winners among the 11 selections, with the A6 getting the nod in part thanks to a roomy backseat and safety technology, according to the magazine's press release.

Best Luxury Compact SUV for Families: Audi Q5

Like the A6, the Q5 was picked as tops in its category thanks to a roomy backseat, as well as automatic braking, lane assist and surround-view cameras.

Best Luxury 3-Row SUV for Families: BMW X5

BMW's X5 was picked top luxury 3-row SUV, as along with ample power and handling, the X5 also contains safety features such as pedestrian detection and a 360-degree rearview camera, according to the magazine.

Best 3-Row SUV for Families: Chevrolet Traverse

The Chevrolet Traverse was the magazine's pick for best 3-row SUV, as according to them, it can seat 8 comfortably as well as handle well and contains more features than other 3-row SUVs.

Best 2-Row SUV for Families: Ford Edge

According to U.S. News & World Report, the Ford Edge can seat 5 comfortably in a roomy cabin, and also won the magazine's Best 2-Row SUV for the Money award in February for the combination of value and quality in its class.

Best Large SUV for Families: Ford Expedition

Ford's other winner is the Expedition, which was picked as the Best Large SUV for Families by the magazine. According to the publication, the Expedition seats 8, and features in-car WiFi and ApplePlay.

Best Compact SUV for Families: Honda CR-V

Honda's CR-V has won the Best Compact SUV for Families award from U.S. News & World Report four years in a row, and seven times overall, according to the magazine. According to the publication, the CR-V has more passenger and storage space than its competition.

Best Minivan for Families: Honda Odyssey

The redesigned Honda Odyssey was the magazine's pick for Best Minivan for Families, with space you'd expect from a minivan, as well as other features such as an in-cabin video system, a vacuum and a cooler. The Odyssey was also one of U.S. News & World Report's picks for Best Cars for the Money for 2018 as well.

Best Large Car for Families: Kia Cadenza

According to U.S. News & World Report, the pick for the Best Large Car for Families, the Kia Cadenza, has an upscale cabin as well as features such as a surround-view camera, rear sunshades, a hands-free trunk, and heated rear seats that you would find in SUVs or luxury cars.

Best Luxury 2-Row SUV for Families: Mercedes-Benz GLE

The Mercedes GLE won the Best Luxury 2-Row SUV for Families for the second year in a row, having excellent cargo and cabin space, as well as rear-seat entertainment, heated rear seats, an automatic lift gate and WiFi, according to the magazine.

Best Midsize Car for Families: Toyota Camry
