The Fisker Atlantic design prototype debuted at the New York Auto Show earlier Wednesday. The luxury four-door sport sedan is a plug-in hybrid vehicle, similar to the Chevy Volt. The car is powered with a combination of an electric motor and a gas-powered engine that acts like a generator for the lithium battery.
The Fisker Atlantic allows drivers to switch manually or automatically between electric and gasoline driving modes and sustain the charge of its lithium ion batteries on the move. The standard powertrain will be configured for rear-wheel drive, but an all-wheel drive version will be offered as an option.
No word yet on actual specs, price, or when/if it will go into production.
