BOARDS & ASSOCIATIONS
Lisa Israel of Greenport has been elected president of the board of Eastern Suffolk BOCES, which is based in Patchogue. Active in several community organizations, the Greenport resident has served as a board trustee for 17 years.

Public Relations Professionals of Long Island announced new board members. Patricia Gambale has been elected president. She is the marketing manager at the Melville accounting firm Marcum and lives in Rocky Point. Kali Chan has been named to the board and will co-chair the programming committee. The East Patchogue resident is director of media relations at Adelphi University in Garden City.

Hope for Youth, an Amityville-based provider of counseling and support services for Long Island children and families, announced two new board members. Anthony Cummings of Bay Shore is an associate at the East Meadow law firm Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman. Francis McVeigh Jr. of Rockville Centre is the founder and chief executive of McVeigh & Associates, an Amityville meeting management company.

HEALTH CARE
Henry Schein, a provider of health care products and services to office practitioners, announced recent promotions that will all be based at the company's Melville headquarters. Marguerite Walsh was promoted to vice president of product merchandising for Henry Schein Dental. The Huntington resident was director of product merchandising for the dental business.  Carol Challed was promoted to vice president of strategic relationships and operations in the global health care specialties group. The Syosset resident last served as director of strategic relationships and operations in the global health care specialties group. Angela Mancuso was promoted from director of business integration, North America to vice president, business integration, North America. Mancuso is a Massapequa resident.

James F. Caldas has been named Catholic Health Services of Long Island  executive vice president, eastern region, and president and chief executive for Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center and St. Charles Hospital, all members of CHS. The Lloyd Harbor resident has been interim president and chief executive of the three hospitals since May 2010.

REAL ESTATE
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage announced new appointments. Karen Rasmussen has joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage's Dix Hills Office as a sales agent. The Deer Park resident was most recently a social worker at SCO Family of Services in Brentwood. Miron Ebanks has joined the company's Mount Sinai-Port Jefferson office as a sales agent. She was chief of staff at Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk in Patchogue and lives in Miller Place.
