BOARDS / ASSOCIATIONS
Sandra Radna of Smithtown has joined the boards of Hope for Youth, which equips children with skills for independent living, and the World Adhesion Foundation, a not-for-profit providing research and support for scar-tissue-related illnesses. She was also named general counsel for Long Island Advancement of Small Business. Radna is a partner at Radna and Androsiglio in Manhattan.
TheLong Island Children's Museum has two new board members: Garden City resident and home improvement personality Leslie Segrete and Marc B. Spector of East Hills, a principal of the Spector Group architects.
Brian Ferruggiari has been elected board president at Child Abuse Prevention Services, a Roslyn not-for-profit that focuses on the prevention of bullying and child abuse and neglect. He is director of public affairs for AVR Realty, a real estate development company in Yonkers, and is a West Islip resident.
David Fried has been named president of the board of directors at the Samuel Field Y in Little Neck. He is an independent insurance broker with Sterling & Sterling in Woodbury and lives in Port Washington.
EDUCATION
Diane Bova Call has been named interim president of Queensborough Community College in Bayside. She was provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. She is an Old Brookville resident.
Brian L. Conboy has been promoted to superintendent of Seaford public schools. The Massapequa resident was assistant superintendent for curriculum, instruction and personnel K-12.
Hofstra Law School has named two faculty members as associate deans for intellectual life: Eric Lane of Manhattan, a professor, and I. Bennett Capers of Brooklyn, an associate professor. They will create thought leadership events and foster faculty scholarship.
Thomas J. McNamara, partner in charge of litigation at the East Meadow law firm of Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, has joined the faculty at Molloy College's business division to teach business law. The Port Washington resident was also appointed to the business division's advisory board.
Tom Corti has been named vice president for student affairs at Farmingdale State College. He was assistant vice chancellor for student development at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He will be relocating to Huntington.
Nancy Carney has been promoted to superintendent of schools for the Riverhead Central School District. The Springs resident was assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction and deputy superintendent.
ENERGY
Larry Waitz, an author and proponent of solar energy, has joined Energy by Choice, a Northport solar integrating firm, as a solar advocate. He is an Oceanside resident.
FINANCE
James P. Liddy has been promoted to vice chair-audit at KPMG in Manhattan. The Garden City resident was promoted from national managing partner-audit.
Lee Stevenson has been named branch manager at State Bank's Garden City branch. The Rockville Centre resident had been a market manager at Capital One.
Nancy Bohan has been named portfolio management director and first vice president at Morgan StanleySmith Barney in Jericho. The Franklin Square resident had been portfolio management director and first vice president with its Stephen Berlin Group.
Michael Cody has been promoted to branch manager at the White Plains office of David Lerner Associates. The Centerport resident was sales manager at the company's headquarters in Syosset.
Philip G. Rinaldi has joined Riverhead-based Suffolk County National Bank as vice president of commercial lending. The Sayville resident was vice president, relationship manager at Gold Coast Bank.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Jonathan Singerof Port Washington has been named chairman of anesthesiology at South Nassau Communities Hospital, Oceanside. He was managing partner at North American Partners in Anesthesia.
J. Edmund Keating, of Garden City, has joined Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola as vice president, marketing and advertising. He had had his own advertising firm.
Maureen Gaffney of Westbury has been promoted to senior vice president, patient care services, at Winthrop-University Hospital. She will retain the responsibilities of her current position of chief medical information officer. She is also a physician assistant in the department of medicine.
HOSPITALITY
Franco Sukaj has been named general manager at Limani, a Mediterranean seafood restaurant in Roslyn. The Bronx resident was promoted from head captain.
LAW
Michael D. Napolitano has joined the Garden City office of Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein as an associate in the personal injury group. The South Huntington resident had his own practice.
Alan Schacter has joined Chaves & Perlowitz, a Manhattan real estate law firm, as partner. The Syosset resident was in private practice in Garden City.
Scott Green of Jericho has joined Rivkin Radler in Uniondale as an associate in employment and labor and litigation and appeals. He held a similar position at Kaufman Dolowich Voluck & Gonzo.
NONPROFITS
Donna Boyce of Hicksville has joined Sustainable Long Island, a Bethpage group devoted to economic development and environmental health, as director of programs. She will focus on brownfields redevelopment and community revitalization. She was director of homeless services at the Nassau County Office of Housing & Homeless Services.
PHARMACEUTICALS
Shankar Hariharan of Smithtown has joined Amneal Pharmaceuticals in Hauppauge as chief scientific officer/executive vice president of specialty pharmaceuticals. He was president, chief executive and co-founder of both Dermact Pharmaceuticals in Melville and Action Medicines in Madrid, Spain.
PUBLISHING
Bartolo Pinto of Islip has been promoted to vice president of recruitment at "Stanford Who's Who," a business networking publication. He was manager of business development at the Islip firm.
REAL ESTATE
Matthew Wallerstein has joined Jericho-based Metropolitan Realty Associates as a vice president. The Manhattan resident was a vice president at Cambridge Property Group in northern Virginia before attending Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
RELIGION
Benjamin Matis of Roslyn has been named cantor at the Shelter Rock Jewish Center, Roslyn. He was senior cantor at Temple Beth Shalom in Livingston, N. J.
TECHNOLOGY
Ray Daugherty of Hauppauge has joined the Morrelly Homeland Security Center, a Bethpage organization that aids in technology and innovation for anti-terrorism systems, as director of programs and business. Previously he had his own company after 34 years with BAE Systems.
Lois Gréaux of Greenlawn has joined Long Island Forum for Technology as director of contracts. She held a similar position at Riverside Research Institute, Manhattan.
