John A. Romano joins Amalgamated Bank in Manhattan as executive vice president of operations. Romano, of Kings Park, previously served as president of the Long Island Division of People's United Bank in Hauppauge.
Patricia Guidi has joined Community National Bank as senior vice president and operations officer in the corporate headquarters in Great Neck. The St. James resident previously served as regional manager of corporate security at People's United Bank in Hauppauge.

Tyesha Jones has been promoted to assistant controller of financial reporting at Newsday Media Group in Melville. The Wheatley Heights resident joined Newsday in 2006 and most recently held the position of manager of accounting and reporting.

Richard C. Guarino has been appointed executive director of the Suffolk County Community College Foundation in Selden. The South Setauket resident previously served as the director of annual giving for Stony Brook University.
