Hakeem Rahim has been appointed youth engagement project coordinator at the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Queens/Nassau chapter, in Lake Success. He takes on this new role in addition to his current role presenting "Let's Talk Mental Illness" to middle and high school students throughout Long Island. The Hempstead resident is also owner of Live Breathe, which provides speaking, training and workshops for stakeholders interested in mental health education and advocacy.

NONPROFIT

Patrice Dalton has joined The Retreat, in East Hampton, as chief financial officer. The Southampton resident previously served as director of resource and capacity management at Genentech in California. The Retreat is a domestic-violence services agency.

Brian A. Bloom has joined Moritt Hock & Hamroff in Garden City as partner in the intellectual property and litigation practice groups. The Old Bethpage resident was previously partner at Certilman Balin in East Meadow.
