 Jeffrey Carter has joined Farmingdale State College as environmental health and safety officer. The Massapequa Park resident was manager of hazardous waste at Stony Brook University.

 James F. Burdi has been promoted to partner in the business and transactional law practice group at Vishnick McGovern Milizio in Lake Success. The Garden City resident was counsel at the firm. 
 Rebecca Sklar has joined the real estate tax certiorari and condemnation practice group at Certilman Balin as an associate in the East Meadow office. She is a recent graduate of Hofstra University School of Law and lives in East Meadow. 
 TECHNOLOGY 
 Robert Comstock has been appointed executive vice president of operations at Cablevision Systems Corp. in Bethpage. In this newly created role he will be responsible for all aspects of infrastructure that support the delivery of Cablevision's customer experience, including network management, field operations, outside plant, Wi-Fi execution, and telecommunications network management. The Oyster Bay resident was senior vice president and general manager of Direct Energy's U.S. residential retail energy business in Houston.
