LAW 
 Fred Thiele joins Twomey, Latham, Shea, Kelley, Dubin &amp; Quartararo in Riverhead as partner in general practice including real estate, estate planning, litigation, municipal and environmental law. The Sag Harbor resident is the state assemblyman for the 1st District and sits on the environmental conservation, education, transportation, election law, and the ways and means committees in the State Assembly. He also was recently appointed chairman of the assembly task force of university/industry cooperation. 
 Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo &amp; Terrana in Uniondale welcomes two new law clerks/summer associates to the firm. 
 Lindsay Mesh, of East Meadow, completed her second year at Hofstra University Law School and has served as an intern/legal secretary at the firm since 2007. 
 Dylan Quinn, of Locust Valley, completed his first year at University of Minnesota Law School and was a clerk at the city attorney's office in New Orleans.

 Dennis Verzi has been named chief operating officer of Catholic Health Services (CHS) in Rockville Centre and will oversee the six CHS hospitals. The Long Beach resident was executive vice president and chief administrative officer for St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown and interim executive vice president, president and chief executive for Good Samaritan, St. Catherine and St. Charles hospitals. 
 EDUCATION 
 Joseph Ferber has been appointed interim head of school for Harbor Country Day School in St. James. He was interim head of school at Newton Montessori School in Newton Centre, Mass., and lives in St. James. Harbor Country Day School is a private school for preschool through eighth grade. 
 ACCOUNTING 
 Lisa Goldman has been promoted to partner at accounting firm Raich Ende Malter &amp; Co. and will work in the Manhattan office. The Syosset resident was manager at the firm. 
 BANKING 
 TD Bank has announced a new hire and a promotion. 
 Sandra A. Artale joins the New Hyde Park branch as store manager and vice president. The West Hempstead resident held a similar position at Wells Fargo Bank in Garden City. 
 Martha Guarini has been promoted to store sales and service manager of the Oceanside store. The Floral Park Village resident has been with TD Bank since 2005 and was assistant store manager in Great Neck.

 Carolyn Reinach Wolf has been installed as a member of the board of directors of the Nassau County Bar Association. The Great Neck resident is a senior partner and director of the mental health law practice at Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara &amp; Einiger in Lake Success. 
 Terese Weber has been elected president of the Nassau-Suffolk Council of Hospital Auxiliaries. The North Babylon resident is a volunteer for Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.

 Katherine Sterner has been named director of volunteers at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson. The Great River resident previously was museum shop/visitor center desk manager for the Planting Fields Foundation in Oyster Bay.
