GOVERNMENT
Michael Pena was named manager of the laboratory protection division at the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton. The division covers fire rescue, the police group, security operations and the Office of Emergency Management. The Holbrook resident was manager of the Office of Emergency Management.
PLUMBING
Blackman Plumbing Supply of Bayport announced new staff appointments.
Tom Carney was promoted to the new position of HVAC division manager. The New Jersey resident was senior vice president, sales and marketing at Ridgewood Corp., which was acquired by Blackman.
Eric Frak was promoted from HVAC manager to the new position of HVAC area sales manager. He is a Shirley resident.
