Adelphi University has appointed Barbara Nemecek as interim dean of its Robert B. Willumstad School of Business, effective July 16. The Garden City resident previously served as dean and the Louis J. and Ramona Rodriguez Distinguished Professor at the Dillard College of Business Administration at Midwestern State University in Texas.

Joseph Bjarnson, of Farmingdale, has been named commercial litigation associate at Sahn Ward Coschignano & Baker in Uniondale. He previously was an associate at Dewey & LeBoeuf in Manhattan, where his practice concentrated on complex commercial litigation in the health care, banking, finance and insurance industries.

Gerard Britton, of Millburn, N.J., has joined DOAR Litigation Consulting as managing director of eDiscovery, based in the firms's Lynbrook office. He most recently served as chief executive of Topiary Discovery, an electronic discovery consulting and solutions provider in Jersey City.
