John A. DeGrace has been appointed to the board of trustees at Nassau Community College. The Valley Stream resident is president of John D. Richards Inc., an insurance brokerage in Valley Stream. He formerly served as Republican commissioner of the Nassau County Board of Elections.
Mark J. Snyder has been named to the board of the JTM Foundation, which seeks philanthropic support for the John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson. The Belle Terre resident is president and founder of Mark J. Snyder Financial Services in Medford.

Richard C. Bie has been promoted to assistant vice president of facilities management at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. The Hauppauge resident was director of plant engineering.
Niels R. Polund has been named executive chef of food and nutrition services at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. The Lake Ronkonkoma resident was chef at the Irish Coffee Pub in Islip.
