Herb Baer has been named president of Polar USA in Lake Success, a subsidiary of Finland-based Polar Electro, which manufactures heart-rate training technology products and invented the first wireless heart-rate monitor. The Mahwah, N.J., resident was previously executive vice president at Water-Jel Technologies, a Carlstadt, N.J., manufacturer and marketer of medical devices.
