Evan Bloom has been named vice president of membership for Long Island Elite, an organization that mentors young business executives. Bloom lives in Long Beach and is co-owner of Sir Speedy in Westbury.
Bruce Newman has been appointed president of the Town of Brookhaven Small Business Advisory Council. The Smithtown resident is a principal at Pipeline, a Bohemia consultancy firm.
CONSULTING
Ira E. Sorkin has joined RMI Consulting, a risk management consulting firm in Port Washington, as senior consultant. The Massapequa resident most recently worked at Marsh & McLennan Companies.
EDUCATION
Edward Moffett has joined De la Salle School in Freeport, a Catholic scholarship school serving young men in fifth to eighth grades who are from economically disadvantaged situations, as director of development. The Hicksville resident was executive director of the North Shore Boys & Girls Club.

Barbara Skelly has joined Zebra Environmental Corp. in Lynbrook as director of marketing and business development. The Garden City resident was vice president of marketing at Designtex in Manhattan.

Ralph Meyer Jr. has joined Community National Bank in Great Neck as vice president, business development, a newly created position. The Seaford resident was regional sales executive at All State Abstract Corp. in Greenlawn.
Alan Cohn has joined Stifel, Nicolaus & Co., a St. Louis-based brokerage and investment banking firm, as first vice president/investments at its Hauppauge office. The East Setauket resident was senior vice president, investment officer at Wells Fargo Advisors.
Thomas A. Iadanza has joined executive management at State Bank of Long Island as chief lending officer. The Garden City resident was president/sector CEO of New York metro commercial banking at Sovereign Bank.
Warren R. Mohr has joined American Community Bank as vice president and commercial loan officer at their East Northport office. The Commack resident was vice president at Mercantile Capital Corp.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Meyer Blumstein has been named director of gastrointestinal motility testing at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside. Blumstein lives in West Hempstead and practices gastroenterology and internal medicine at South Shore Internal Medicine Associates in Lynbrook.

The Corcoran Group announced three recent hires. Don Sebastian has been named associate broker in its Southampton office. He's a resident of Southampton and was previously in sales management at Computer Associates in Islandia. Claudette Dixon has joined Corcoran's Amagansett office as sales agent. The East Hampton resident was vice president of sales and marketing at Lawrence Schiff Silk Mills in Manhattan. Tim Pogue has joined Corcoran's Southampton office as a sales agent. The Southampton resident was director of sales and product management at Shemin Nurseries in Danbury, Conn.
