The Long Beach Latino Civic Association announced new executive board positions.

Helen Dorado Alessi has been elected vice president. She is a senior vice president at The Early Years Institute in Plainview and lives in Long Beach.

Jorge Romero, of Long Beach, has been elected treasurer. He is a financial adviser at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Manhattan.

Andrew Rodriguez, of Freeport, has been elected secretary. He is owner/managing partner at Digidottech, an information technology company also located in Freeport.

Katherine Coladner, of Long Beach, has been named director. She is the broker/owner of RKM Consulting, a Long Beach real estate company.

HEALTH CARE

Dr. Charles Schleien has been named chair of pediatrics at the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center in New Hyde Park. He was executive vice chairman of pediatrics at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and professor of pediatrics and anesthesiology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He lives in Larchmont.
