Albert J. Beer has been elected to the board of directors of the American Academy of Actuaries in Washington, D.C. The Garden City resident is a professor of risk management, insurance and actuarial science at St. John's University in Manhattan.
Edward Murphy has become a member of the development committee at Bethpage-based Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities (ACLD). The Rockville Centre resident is a senior financial adviser with Ameriprise Financial Services in Garden City.
