Ernie Canadeo
has been named to the board of directors of the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in Port Jefferson. The Oyster Bay resident is president and chief executive of The EGC Group, a Melville-based advertising company.

Dr. Jorge L. Gardyn has been named to the board of trustees at Nassau Community College in Garden City. Gardyn is a board-certified internist who is the division chief of occupational and corporate medicine at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. He lives in Garden City.

David M. Rottkamp has been elected to the board of directors of the New York Council of Nonprofits, which endeavors to build the capacity of nonprofits and communities in New York State. He is a partner and the not-for-profit practice leader at the Jericho-based accounting firm Grassi & Co. Rottkamp lives in Huntington.

Dr. Steven J. Walerstein has been elected to the executive committee of the American College of Physicians' board of governors. Walerstein is the executive vice president for medical affairs and medical director at NuHealth, a public benefit corporation that manages the operations of the Nassau University Medical Center, A. Holly Patterson Extended Care and a network of family health centers. He is a Dix Hills resident.

Thomas J. Killeen has been appointed to the board of directors of the Community Development Corporation of Long Island. He was also elected to the board of CDC's affiliate, CDCLI Funding Corp. The Manhasset resident is a corporate and banking partner at the Uniondale law firm of Farrell Fritz.

Dr. Bernard Polatsch
has joined Contemporary Ob Gyn Healthcare in Bethpage. The Woodbury resident was most recently associated with the Plainview medical practice of Schlessinger Levi Polatsch Tydings.

MARKET RESEARCH
Mark Turim
has been promoted to president and general manager for the Latin American region at The NPD Group, a Port Washington-based consumer and retail market research company. Turim was promoted from the president and general manager role at NPD's Asia Pacific business and lives in Chicago.

Amy Engel
has been appointed executive director of Sustainable Long Island, a Bethpage nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance economic development, environmental health and social equity on Long Island. She was most recently a senior management analyst in the executive budget office of the Suffolk County executive's office in Hauppauge. She lives in Holtsville.
