EDUCATION
Noel Zahler has been appointed dean of the School of Visual and Performing Arts at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University. After a national search, the composer, researcher and administrator joins Long Island University from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh where he was head of its School of Music. He lives in Glen Cove.
FINANCE
Catherine Califano has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer at Gold Coast Bank. She joins the Islandia-based organization from First Central Savings Bank in Glen Cove where she was first vice president/chief financial officer. Califano is a Roslyn Heights resident.
Peter Austin has been named senior vice president-team leader at Rosenthal & Rosenthal, a Manhattan-based factoring and finance company. The Rockville Centre resident was a senior vice president/account executive at Wells Fargo's trade capital division in Manhattan.
