 Dr. James R. Powell has been appointed to the special review committee for Options for Community Living, a not-for-profit organization in <a href="/topics//Smithtown,_NY">Smithtown</a> that assists individuals and families with special needs to develop their full potential for independent living. The <a href="/topics//Smithtown,_NY">Smithtown</a> resident is a board-certified internist and medical director at <a href="/topics//Developmental_Disorders">Developmental Disabilities</a> Institute, also in <a href="/topics//Smithtown,_NY">Smithtown</a>. 
 Francesco L. Fratto has been elected first vice president to the executive committee of the <a href="/topics//New_York_(state)">New York</a> State Association of Foreign Language Teachers. He is director of world languages and the ESL program in the Half Hollow Hills School District and lives in Ulster County.
