BOARDS & ASSOCIATIONS
Nicholas J. Planamento has been elected president of Hamptons and North Fork Realtors Association (HANFRA). The Southold resident is an associate broker at the Mattituck office of Town & Country Real Estate. HANFRA represents nearly 900 real estate professionals in the five East End towns.
Mark Jackson has been named an executive board member of the Long Island Men's Center, an Amityville-based organization that helps men access health and human services, education, and social, cultural and economic resources. The West Hempstead resident is a licensed salesperson at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Syosset.
Vito J. Rizzo has been named president of the board of trustees of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association. The Brightwaters resident maintains a practice at 21st Century Foot Care in Bay Shore.
Pete Bussa has been named chairperson of TOPsoccer Special Children's Program, a division of Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association that is geared toward children with mentally and physically challenging conditions. The Oceanside resident is a sanitation supervisor for the Town of Hempstead.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Gary M. O'Connor has joined the Garden City office of Your Part-Time HR Manager as a managing partner for the New York metropolitan region. The Pennsylvania-based company is a human resources consulting firm. The Garden City resident was director of human resources at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead.
EDUCATION
Minghua Zhang has been named dean of the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University. The East Setauket resident has been the interim dean since June 2010 and is also director of the Marine Sciences Research Center.
Diana Hannan has been promoted to director of conferences and special events for Stony Brook University. The East Setauket resident was promoted from director of events for advancement services and has been with the University since 2000.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Bruce Brewer of Garden City was named chief of plastic surgery at Glen Cove Hospital. He is a partner at Long Island Plastic Facial Surgical Group in Garden City.
Monica Santoro has been named chief quality officer at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola. The Westbury resident will serve in her new position concurrent with her role as assistant vice president, patient safety, quality and innovation.
LAW
Sally M. Donahue has joined the Mineola business law firm of Meltzer Lippe Goldstein & Breitstone as counsel. She was most recently a court attorney-referee at the Nassau County Surrogate's Court. The Huntington resident will concentrate her practice on trusts and estates litigation, accounting proceedings and guardianships.
Vincent T. Pallaci has been promoted to partner at the Melville-based construction law firm, Kushnick & Associates. He was promoted from senior associate and lives in Bay Shore. The law firm will now be known as Kushnick Pallaci.
