Dr. Suhail Raoof has been elected president of the American College of Chest Physicians, a worldwide cardiopulmonary organization. Dr. Raoof, a resident of Muttontown, is chief of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine and vice chairman of the department of medicine at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. Dr. Suhail Raoof has been elected president of the American College of Chest Physicians, a worldwide cardiopulmonary organization. Dr. Raoof, a resident of Muttontown, is chief of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine and vice chairman of the department of medicine at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. He is also a professor of clinical medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College in Manhattan.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Michelle Weisfelner Bloom has been appointed assistant professor in the department of medicine, division of cardiovascular diseases, at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Dr. Bloom's practice will center on treating patients with advanced cardiovascular diseases at Stony Brook's Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy Center. The Great Neck resident comes to Stony Brook from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, where she completed an advanced heart failure, ventricular assist device and cardiac transplant fellowship, after a three-year cardiovascular fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan.
