The Child Care Council of Suffolk in Commack has announced two promotions and four new hires.

Christina Flythe has been promoted to senior program coordinator of the parent leadership initiative program. The Huntington resident was a part-time program coordinator in the parent and leadership initiative program and a part-time data entry clerk in the child and adult care food program department.

Danielle Moore has been promoted to administrative assistant in the registration department. The Stony Brook resident was an accounting clerk.

Danielle Asher joins as director of the parent leadership initiative program. The Elwood resident was lead organizer and coordinator of the statewide early childhood education campaign for the Alliance for Quality Education at the Long Island Progressive Coalition in Massapequa.

Maxima Castro joins as the bilingual administrative assistant in the registration department. The Brentwood resident was a receptionist, hostess and coordinator for Sisters of St. Joseph in Brentwood.

Justina Fargiano Ruiz joins as program director. The East Yaphank resident held an administrative position in the Long Island regional office of the state Office of Children and Family Services in Central Islip.

Linda Muroff joins as an accounting clerk. The Islip Terrace resident was an assistant manager for Easy Spirit in Deer Park.

UTILITIES

Joseph Pokorny has been promoted to deputy chief executive for operations at Suffolk County Water Authority in Holbrook. The Northport resident previously served as acting director of distribution.

Donald Barrick has been named chairman of the board at Life's WORC, a Garden City-based nonprofit that provides services to individuals and their families in the developmentally disabled community. The Lloyd Harbor resident is president and chief executive at RMP Capital Corp. in Islandia.
