EDUCATION
Dexter A. Bailey Jr. has been named vice president for advancement at Stony Brook University. He will be on the president's senior management team and lead the university's development and alumni relations operations. He will also serve as executive director of the Stony Brook Foundation. Bailey was most recently vice president for development and alumni relations at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts.

Lynn Russo, a biologist and molecular geneticist, has joined the Garden City law firm of Scully, Scott, Murphy & Presser as a patent agent. The Massapequa resident was a patent agent at Darby & Darby in Manhattan.
TECHNOLOGY
John Rostern has been named managing director of the New York City office of Coalfire Systems, an information technology audit and compliance firm headquartered in Colorado.
Before joining Coalfire Systems, the Holtsville resident was director of information technology risk advisory services for Jefferson Wells in Manhattan.
