 Gettry Marcus in Woodbury has announced two new hires. 
 Robert Thee joins as a senior manager. The West Hempstead resident was a tax director for CBIZ MHM in Manhattan. 
 Jill Scher joins as a tax manager in the firm's tax services group. She previously held a similar position at Marcum in Melville and lives in Dix Hills. 
 EDUCATION 
 Charles Taber has been named vice provost for graduate education and dean of the graduate school at Stony Brook University. He is also a professor of political science, a role he will continue in addition to his new position. The Centerport resident has been on the faculty of Stony Brook University since 1989 and previously served as interim dean of the graduate school. 
 NONPROFIT 
 Shenole Latimer joins East End Arts Council in Riverhead as education director. The Greenlawn resident was owner and president of Sharp 9 Media in Moriches.
