Richard E. Wankel has been appointed to the professional development committee of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. He is executive director of the Town of Islip Housing Authority and lives St. James.
GOVERNMENT
Fred S. Mosher Jr. has been named deputy commissioner of building development at the New York City Department of Buildings. The Northport resident most recently served as senior technical architect at Skidmore Owings & Merrill in Manhattan.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Melinda J. Staiger has been named director of Women's Imaging Center at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. She also will serve as director of women's imaging for the eastern division of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. The Northport resident was responsible for breast imaging services at the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, N.J.
