 Susan Kwiatek has been appointed the new executive director at <a href="/topics//Glen_Cove,_NY">Glen Cove</a> Hospital. She was previously associate executive director of patient care services and chief nursing officer and is a resident of <a href="/topics//Glen_Cove,_NY">Glen Cove</a>. 
 Dr. Daniel G. Murphy has been named chief of emergency medicine at Catholic Health Services of <a href="/topics//Long_Island,_NY">Long Island</a> and will serve as chairman of the department of emergency medicine at <a href="/topics//Good_Samaritan_Hospital">Good Samaritan Hospital</a> Medical Center in <a href="/topics//West_Islip,_NY">West Islip</a>. The <a href="/topics//Garden_City,_NY">Garden City</a> resident previously served as director of emergency services at Mercy Medical Center in <a href="/topics//Rockville_Centre,_NY">Rockville Centre</a>.

 Hope Children's Fund, a <a href="/topics//Setauket,_NY">Setauket</a>-based organization that supports an orphanage in <a href="/topics//Kenya">Kenya</a>, has added two new board members. Samantha Lacovara is a <a href="/topics//Shoreham,_NY">Shoreham</a> resident attending <a href="/topics//Suffolk_County,_NY">Suffolk</a> University in Boston.  John Furey has been promoted to account executive at Stalco Construction, a general contracting and construction management firm. The Port Jefferson resident was promoted from senior estimator and will work at the headquarters in Islandia.
