Catherine Jackvony has been named principal of the Bronx Academy of Promise Charter School. The Oakdale resident was most recently principal in charge of instruction and curriculum at Roosevelt Children's Academy in Roosevelt.
LAW
Matthew D. Shwom, a Plainview resident, has been promoted to partner at Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles in Melville. He was promoted from senior counsel and will continue his litigation practice.

Lauren Rachel Flanagan has joined T. Weiss Realty Corp. as a marketing representative. Before joining the Melville-based real estate development company, the Rockville Centre resident worked in the marketing department of Bed Bath & Beyond in Farmingdale.
