 Accounting firm Grant Thornton has announced three promotions. 
 Esther Escapa has been promoted to industry practice leader of the construction, real estate, hospitality and restaurants practice in the metro New York cluster in Manhattan. The Merrick resident will perform her new role in addition to her duties as audit partner. 
 Jennifer Hoffman has been promoted to industry practice leader of the higher education and not-for-profit practices for the metro New York cluster in Melville. The Great River resident will perform her new role in addition to her duties as audit partner, not-for-profit. 
 Michael Patanella has been promoted to industry practice leader of the financial services asset management practice for the metro New York cluster in Manhattan. The Mt. Sinai resident will perform his new role in addition to his duties as audit partner. 
 LAW 
 Christina Rickheeram Jonathan has joined the firm of Terence E. Smolev in Jericho as an associate. The Queens resident held a similar position at the Law Offices of Robert W. Dapelo in Patchogue.
