BOARDS/ASSOCIATIONS 
 Virginia Kawochka has been appointed to the board of directors of the Association of Legal Administrators-Long Island Chapter (ALA-LI). The East Meadow resident is administrator of the law firm of Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo &amp; Terrana in Uniondale. 
 HEALTH CARE 
 Gara Edelstein has been appointed chief nursing officer for Rockville Centre-based Catholic Health Services (CHS), and chief operating officer for St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown. In the newly created role of chief nursing officer for CHS she will work closely with the chief nursing executives of CHS' six hospitals to further develop patient care strategy. The Merrick resident previously was senior vice president and chief nursing officer for St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center. 
 Dr. Stephen Green has been appointed director of interventional cardiology at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola. The Dix Hills resident previously served as associate chairman of the department of cardiology at North Shore-LIJ Health System in Manhasset.
