Friends of Karen, a nonprofit organization that provides emotional, financial and advocacy support to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families, has announced two new members for its Long Island Advisory Board:

Cindy McLoughlin is the managing partner of the audit practice in the Melville office of BDO USA, an international accounting firm. She is a Northport resident.

Norman Huddleston of West Islip is senior director of finance for First Data North America, a provider of electronic commerce and payment solutions.

Steven J. Kuperschmid has been appointed to the board of directors of The Marty Lyons Foundation, a charitable organization that fulfills wishes of children diagnosed with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. The West Hills resident is a partner in the corporate / securities law practice group at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, an East Meadow law firm.

FINANCE

Sandy Cohen has been promoted to vice president of management at Wachtler Knopf Equities in Farmingdale. The Bellmore resident was promoted from director of management.
