ARCHITECTURE
Michael Sciara has joined John W. Baumgarten Architect in Jericho as director of architecture. The Hicksville resident was a project architect at JRS Architect in Mineola.
BOARDS & ASSOCIATIONS
Freeport-based Literacy Nassau named three new board members. Jericho resident Sean Grady is an account executive at C&B Consulting in Syosset, a division of Gallagher Benefit Services. Iris Grover is a retired guidance counselor and lives in Lynbrook. Mark Leff is a service product manager at Cisco Systems in Melville and lives in Massapequa.
Steve Schwimmer has been appointed to the Long Island Works Regional Industry Advisory Council, which focuses on ways to ensure a skilled and dedicated future workforce on Long Island. The Syosset resident is a regional manager at Renaissance Merchant Services.
EDUCATION
Brian Maher has been named director of the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center at Farmingdale State College. The West Islip resident has been acting director at the center since July of 2009.
FINANCE
Carolyn Mazzenga was named partner-in-charge at Marcum's Melville office. The Fort Salonga resident will continue to serve as partner-in-charge of the firm's family wealth services group.
Giselle T. Sellino has joined Gold Coast Bank as senior vice president, commercial lending. She was vice president/principal relationship manager at Wachovia Bank in Melville and lives in Massapequa.
Richard Crescenzo has joined Ameriprise Financial Services in Hauppauge as vice president and financial adviser. The East Setauket resident held a similar position at Oppenheimer & Co. in Hauppauge.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Joseph Ng has been named chief medical information officer at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson. The Flushing, Queens, resident will retain his responsibilities as an intensivist in the critical care units.
LAW
Jeffrey Fleischman has joined the Mineola law firm of Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone as counsel to the firm. The Manhattan resident had been in his own practice.
Brian Bloom has joined the Lake Success firm of Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Greenberg, Formato & Einiger as partner and director of the entertainment and intellectual property practice group. The Old Bethpage resident was an associate at Akerman Senterfitt in Manhattan.
Vanessa Eng has joined Ruskin Moscou Faltischek in Uniondale as an associate in the litigation department. The Glen Cove resident held a similar position at Napoli Bern Ripka in Manhattan.
RELIGION
The Rev. Gabriel Muteru has been named chaplain at Molloy Collegein Rockville Centre. The diocesan priest was associate pastor at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary in Roosevelt, where he will continue to celebrate the Spanish-language Mass on Sundays.
TECHNOLOGY
Paul E. Donofrio has joined Hypres, a superconductor electronics company in Elmsford, as chief financial officer. He held a similar position at The Innovative Companies in Hauppauge and lives in Nesconset.
