Dr. Maria Maranga has been named president of the Suffolk County Dental Society, the local branch of the American Dental Association. The Aquebogue endodontist lives in Fort Salonga.
Patricia Kurz, director of medical-surgical nursing at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, has been appointed to the Medical-Surgical Nurses Certification Board as the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses representative. She lives in Copiague.
CARGO
Steve Crescenti of West Islip has been promoted to chief operating officer at Cargo Airport Services USA in Jamaica. He was director of operations.
CONSTRUCTION SUPPLY
ABC Supply Co. of Beloit, Wis., made two announcements.
Peter Sharkey has been named safety/department of transportation training specialist and will work out of the Hicksville branch of Bradco Supply Corp., a division of ABC Supply. The Hicksville resident was corporate safety trainer with Bradco Supply Corp.
Mark Singer has joined ABC Supply Co. as director of real estate. The Port Washington resident held a similar position with Bradco Supply Corp. and will work in ABC Supply's national support center in Beloit.
EDUCATION
Manuel Mosquera has been named chief executive of the Lexington School and Center for the Deaf in Jackson Heights. The Massapequa resident was director of operations at Nassau County Health and Human Services.
FINANCE
Jim Moreno has joined Citigroup as director and chief administrative officer of procurement at its Manhattan office. The Floral Park resident was a senior vice president at JPMorgan Chase, also in Manhattan.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. Rick Madhok has been appointed chief of neurosurgery at the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. This new responsibility is in addition to his current practice at The Harvey Cushing Institutes of Neuroscience at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. Dr. Madhok lives in Manhasset.
LAW
Adam H. Koblenz has joined the Uniondale law firm of Sahn Ward Coschignano & Baker as an associate. The Manhattan resident held a similar position at Rivkin Radler also of Uniondale.
NONPROFIT
Jill Ladouceur has been appointed director of special events (college and youth market) at the American Cancer Society in Manhattan. The Smithtown resident held a similar position at the American Cancer Society in upstate Johnson City.
PHARMACEUTICAL
Sophie Cardone has joined A & Z Pharmaceutical in Deer Park as director human resources. The Middle Island resident was vice president human resources at Festo Corporation in Hauppauge.
STAFFING
Matthew J. Zinser has joined Alcott HR Group, a Farmingdale human resource services outsourcing company, as sales manager, New York region. He was an account executive with Liazon Benefits in Buffalo and lives in Glendale.
