$2.45M East Hampton home has ‘glass curtains’

When Steph and Linda Fogelson designed this hilltop 2,400-square-foot East Hampton “beach box” listed for $2.45 million, they had nature on their mind.
The couple was moving to the Hamptons from Manhattan after Steph sold his business. Inspired by the change in surroundings, they incorporated a pair of two-story “glass curtains” into the design.
“We wanted that openness,” Linda says. “We were just hungry for nature around us.”
The glassy corner, which opens to the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home’s vaulted foyer, offers nature views from the living room and upstairs hallway, and contributes to the ultra-sleek, “open and airy” feel of the home.
A first-floor great room opens to a large mahogany deck, and a master-bedroom suite has a rear-facing balcony. Both overlook a manicured backyard with a heated pool, an outdoor shower, a one-car detached garage and a covered pool pavilion — a great place to “read the newspaper and take a nap,” Linda says.
“Our dog loves that space the best,” Steph adds.
An open-plan kitchen has room for entertaining and includes a kitchen island with pullout drawers. There are Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances, as well as a black Blanco sink. Steph says he likes it for not only its appearance, but also its durability — the dark color hides blemishes and scratches better than a stainless steel sink.
