A home near the ocean in East Hampton, built at the turn of the last century and on the market for $26.5 million, was once part of the prestigious Maidstone Club.
The five-bedroom home sat off the club’s golf course, says listing agent David Zazula of Halstead Property. It was completely renovated and modernized five years ago and includes a finished basement accessed by an elevator.
“It still has the original fireplaces and a lot of framework is original,” Zazula says.
The 2.5-acre property, which also features specimen trees, a rose garden, 50-foot saltwater pool and a pool house, shares a border with a property that sold for a record-setting $147 million in 2014.
