An East Hampton home that was remodeled by architect Robert A.M. Stern and comes with ocean views is on the market for $13.9 million.

The previous owners hired Stern in the 1970s to design an expansion and renovation of a small ranch, says listing agent Gary DePersia of The Corcoran Group. The house now measures 7,500 square feet and has six bedrooms and six bathrooms. It offers views of Hook Pond and a glimpse of the ocean.

A buyer could either purchase the house and do renovations, or build a new one, DePersia says. The three-acre property, which has a 40-foot heated gunite pool with a spa, could accommodate an 8,100-square-foot house, a 1,200-square-foot accessory structure and a sunken tennis court.

“You can’t replace that site,” DePersia says.

Correction: The house is 7,500 square feet. A previous version of this story had the incorrect square footage.
