This eight-room Shoreham contemporary, which is set off the road on a wooded one-plus-acre lot, is affectionately referred to as a tree house by owner Rose Imperial-Rodriguez.

“From the living room and dining room, you feel like you are outside, high in the trees,” Imperial-Rodriguez says, noting the same applies for the loft area, which is used as a playroom.

The second floor has two walls of windows -- sliding-glass doors with oversized windows on top. The doors open to a large wraparound deck.

The house, which is being marketed for $790,000 by Belinda Bender of Little Bay Realty, was built in 1969 by Geysa Sarkany, an architect from the village. During construction, great lengths were taken to avoid destroying vegetation, says Imperial-Rodriguez.

When Imperial-Rodriguez and her husband, Robert Rodriguez, purchased the house seven years ago, they fulfilled their dream of having an indoor pool built. “We had it in our head that it would be cool to have an indoor pool, but you want to be outside in the summer,” Imperial-Rodriguez says.

Well, they now have both -- the heated saltwater mineral pool has a dome cover that opens. The pool is accessible from the master bedroom and from a guest room. “All the pumps are in the garage, so you don’t have to lie in bed listening to something chugging away,” Bender says.
