Why it’s for sale Linda, 62, a retired housekeeper, says the house has become more than she wants to handle on her own.
Linda Badkin says she has enjoyed classic beach cottage living since buying the 630-square-foot house in 1995. Linda says:
“The highlight of the property is the view. It’s on a private road with very little traffic that dead-ends at the beach. I’m less than 100 feet from Gardiners Bay. The house is raised enough so that there was no damage from Sandy. The sunsets from here are beautiful. The house backs up to state-owned land that won’t ever be developed. And the backyard is fenced in. This is a classic beach cottage with plenty of windows that take in the surroundings. The flooring is vinyl plank and only 2 years old. It’s great for sandy footsteps and pets. My friends and family love coming here. We have cocktails on the deck, a private beach to enjoy. The patio is made of beach stone that’s been collected over the years. There’s a goldfish pond in the backyard with a little waterfall . . . Above every window inside is a shelf where I display my enormous glass collection. I’m going to miss this house very much. I’ve had it for so long. I completely remodeled it, and made it my own. It’s a unique lifestyle living here. It’s a great place for young families. There are native plants and lots of wildlife.”
