Ocean lovers, this might be your paradise -- a five-bedroom, four-bath Southampton Village house listed for $5.995 million meant to look like the sea.
The property's wave-shaped roof are complemented by an interior that draws heavily from ship designs, owner Tom Ragan says. The attic -- a full-size bedroom with a bath -- and the master bedroom and bath have wooden plank flooring that resembles the teak strips on ships. The attic itself is shaped like a gangplank and imitates the feel of boarding a ship.
The house comes with a 64-foot heated lap pool, heated bluestone flooring on the first floor, a porch with a fireplace, and towering glass windows in the living room that overlook the backyard. The beach is about a mile away.
The house, which was designed by James K. Brehm, is inspired by Ragan's family. He comes from a long line of Navy admirals -- including his father, grandfather and great-grandfather -- and spent much of his life living on ships or near the ocean.
