Artist Cindy Sherman has purchased a Springs home, according to the Long Island Real Estate Report.
Sherman, who grew up on Long Island, purchased the property for $4.65 million through “C. Morris Sherman Llc.” The sellers were Jack Rivkin, a retired Lehman executive, and his wife, Jane.
A spokesman for Sherman declined to comment.
Springs is the legendary East Hampton artist community where Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning and other artists have lived.
The circa 1835 house has wide-plank floors and a door from the Continental Congress, according to the exclusive listing with Town & Country Real Estate.
The home first went on the market for $7.1 million in 2009. It was last listed for $4.99 million.
