An updated, four-bedroom split-level house with bay views is on the market in East Rockaway for $739,000.

The nearly 1,800-square foot,  two-bathroom house, on Arden Road, is adjacent to Hempstead Town's Hewlett Point Park and beach on Hewlett Bay.

Taxes on the 0.14-acre property are $13,503.

Built in 1957, the home was gutted and redesigned in 2018 with an open floor plan, listing agent Edward McNulty of Ed McNulty Realty said.

The house got new doors, windows, siding, lighting, electric, plumbing, gas line, smart thermostat and central air system, he said.

The renovation also added a feature to take advantage of the location.

“They installed a balcony deck on the second floor to give the property a bay view” from the main bedroom, McNulty said.

The house has a den, living room and dining room, an eat-in-kitchen with granite counters, an island and new GE stainless steel appliances, as well as a partially finished basement with heat, an attic for storage and attached one-car garage. There are hardwood floors.

The family room has a sliding door to a new stone patio in the fenced-in backyard.

Zoned for the East Rockaway School District, the home is near a kayak launching area.

“It’s the best of both worlds," McNulty said. "You’re right up against the beach, so it’s going to attract beach enthusiasts, yet you don’t need flood insurance because the area itself is elevated more than other parts of East Rockaway.”
