A Blue Point home that once belonged to the Pratt family is listed for $599,000.
The family of New York City’s Pratt Institute fame used the property as a summer home, says listing agent Leesa Byrnes of Leesa Byrnes Realty. It has original moldings, porthole windows, a staircase with intricate woodwork, a second back staircase, butler’s pantry, wainscoting, oak and pine wood floors, and a walk-up attic.
The matriarch of the family who has owned the house since the 1960s was a master gardener who created beautiful, lush gardens on the just over a half-acre lot, Byrnes says. One of the highlights is a wisteria-trellised arbor.
“It’s like walking into a secret garden,” Byrnes says. “It’s amazing.”
Originally a barn, the two-car garage has a loft area that can be used for storage.
